Welland Junior FC, Welland Ladies and Welland FC would like to thank you.
Whilst the lockdown restrictions are gradually starting to ease and the Premiership cautiously returns, albeit in a limited manner, there is still no prospect of an early return for grass root football. In the meantime, maintenance work has gone ahead on Spitalfield making good use of the period of minimal use ready for the Saturday Development Club to return.
Junior soccer Leagues are also starting to plan for the new season which means we also have to start now thinking about how we will organise ourselves in readiness for enjoying our sport, when it is safe to do so!
The Club are introducing a new On-Line player registration system so as to make the whole process of signing-on less people and paper dependant and more appropriate for the challenges of todays’ climate.
Please can all League players across all Welland’s girls and boys teams make sure they are working with their manager to register now for the 2020-2021 season, so we can have teams ready to kick-off when the Referee’s whistle blows once again!
Yours in Sport!
Like many clubs, Welland Junior FC, are mindful of players wishing to return to football in accordance with FA guidelines and gradually starting to play football again.
In order to ensure this process commences in a safe, fun and secure environment, Olly Lewis has organised some session on Thursday June 11th (working with small groups of senior men’s player in adherence to COVID19 and FA guidelines) with a view to reporting at the Junior AGM on June 18th how to pilot has progressed. We hope to be in position shortly following to advise when training could commence for younger teams and players of our Junior club, who would like to start reconnecting with teammates and coaches, with a view to a safe progression ready for when the season returns. However, we are also mindful at this current time that we are still very much unaware as to when the grassroots football season will commence.
We must bear in mind most pitches are being maintained or closed, together with the uncertainly surrounding schools returning. Therefore, we shall give a firm update after the Junior club’s AGM on Thursday 18th June in accordance with any further FA or Government Guidelines.
In the meantime, please continue to register players for league teams so we are ready for the next phase and stay safe.
*The Club’s AGM will be on Thursday 18th June via ZOOM – pls email the Club Chairman if you have ay points you would like raised – firstname.lastname@example.org
